TWO KINGS, TWO QUEENS

The Rossi House, the only home in the United States designed by Aldo Rossi,  the Pritzker Prize-winning architect, is located on the beachfront in one of the country’s most fascinating and beautiful planned communities: Seaside, Florida. Aldo Rossi is widely considered the greatest neo-rationalist architect of the late 20th century and the Rossi House was the last home he designed before passing away in 1997.

The Rossi House is a prime example of a modern, New Urbanist oasis. While its spacious, light-filled interior and lush tropical plantings give it a feeling of peaceful seclusion, this spectacular property is on Seaside's western edge…just a five-minute stroll to Seaside’s lively downtown and an equally short jaunt to the shops and restaurants of Watercolor. Adding to the history of the Rossi House, it is notable that the founders of Seaside, Robert Davis and his wife Daryl were also the second family to own the home. The Rossi House was not available for rent until 2021.

Every detail of the Rossi House, like Seaside itself, has been carefully considered and masterfully crafted. On approach, the exterior is charming and grand. Two classical columns frame the entryway, and a small oculus window sits just above it.

Upon entry, one will take in the beautifully crafted staircase that leads to the main entry floor on the upper level. At the top of the stairs, guests are greeted by a full-sized living room, complete with a sofa and 4 club chairs, and a dining table with four chairs, making the space perfect for cocktails or for putting a puzzle together, all while enjoying stunning views of the Gulf.

Adjacent to the front living area is a second living space with a vaulted ceiling, causing the kitchen, dining, and two living areas to come together to form a calm, serene Great Room. Floor-to-ceiling windows on the south side overlook the dunes and the sea. The elegant, wood-paneled kitchen is equipped with state-of-the-art Miele and Gaggenau appliances, and a breakfast bar with seating for three, along with an adjacent dining area with seating for ten.   Completing the second-floor living space is a private terrace to enjoy morning coffee or afternoon cocktails, overlooking the beautiful private beach and the Gulf of Mexico.

Also on the second floor is the oversized king primary bedroom with floor-to-ceiling windows and gorgeous Gulf views. A writing desk, smart TV, and seating area complement the room. The primary bathroom features artfully crafted stone, natural light, and a 13-jet steam shower.

Below the main level, one will find two luxurious spaces for guests. The first is a king bedroom with modern chic furnishings and a large 80” Smart TV to enjoy movies or sports from the comfort of the plush king-sized bed. There are two sets of French doors leading to a private porch. The room has a private bathroom with whimsical wave-patterned tile. A second guest room with a matching private bath features two queen beds, built-in storage, large dressers, and a private Smart TV.  A full-size washer and dryer are also found on this level.

On the ground level, a large, shaded patio for al fresco cooking and dining has a barbecue grill and a new Teak dining table, with seating for 8. Additional outdoor seating, and two comfortable chaise lounges make the adjacent covered patio a perfect place to enjoy a book.  An outdoor shower, complete with hot water service, can also be found for guests to comfortably remove the sugar-fine sand from a day at the beach, which is easily accessed via the Natchez Pavillion, only a few steps away from the Rossi House.

Overlooking the dunes, the Gulf of Mexico, and the town of Seaside, the Rossi House is classic elegance.

We celebrated my "Circle" birthday in this gorgeous Rossi House! We've been vacationing in Seaside for 30 plus years and this home was our absolute favorite! Beach access was perfect and we watched the New Year's fireworks from our porch balcony! The property is beautifully decorated and was spotless upon arrival. Our family loved the spacious bedrooms along with all of the bells and whistles one could ask for! A true gem is waiting for you!
