Way Back Cottage is Seaside’s Original “Tiny House”. Come stay in Seaside’s first town architect’s personal residence, preserved for more than three decades as a compact pine cabin nestled in the woods, and now fully upgraded with new kitchen and bathroom fixtures, recessed lighting, two-zone air conditioning, upgraded soft furnishings and the addition of a compact washer/dryer. At just 420 square feet, Way Back cottage offers a cosseting nest for two adults and a family pet. In the words of a recent guest, “This cottage has everything you need, and nothing you don’t need”.

Located on quiet Forest Street near the acclaimed Seaside Chapel, Way Back is just a block from the adult and family pools, fitness center, tennis and pickleball courts, and a five-minute walk from the town center shopping and dining. And it’s a short stroll on sandy picket-fence paths to the beach.

Way Back faces a pine forest front and back. Outdoor living is augmented with Adirondack chairs on the front terrace, an entry porch, and upper balcony, an outdoor shower, and a gas BBQ grill. Inside, the main floor includes a compact galley kitchen, dining table, cozy living area with comfortable new seating, flat-screen smart TV, and a new washer/dryer nook. Up an easy staircase, the open second-floor bedroom features a queen bed, another flat-screen smart TV, credenza, closet, and a completely refreshed bathroom with a walk-in rain shower, heated floor, and heated towel rail.

You will want to explore the nearby 30-A beach towns, your mobility augmented with the two included rental bikes, providing easy access to an extensive network of walking and bike paths along the area’s freshwater dune lakes. There’s a dedicated parking place for your car immediately in front of the cottage. Concierge services from Homeowner’s Collection can assist with restaurant bookings, optional beach cabanas, and pre-arrival stocking of fridge supplies. Whether it’s a couple’s beach retreat, a landing pad for two close friends, a mom-daughter escape week or a solo time away, Way Back cottage has been delighting Seaside visitors as one of the most beloved rental cottages for decades. This pet-friendly, fully updated cottage is a unique venue for your special beach holiday.

This is the perfect home in the perfect community with the perfect agency (Homeowner's collection). It is ideal for a couple looking for an intimate and charming place to enjoy all that Seaside has to offer. The team at Homeowner's collection made us feel like part of the community during our stay - the were very responsive and proactive. We will use them again for future stays.

First time to Seaside, mother/daughter Spring Break. This is the perfect location. The house is so charming and has everything you need! The extras that are included - bikes, private beach access, the welcome kit and frequent text check-in make this a no-brainer. Only minor request would be to add a couch instead of club chairs. We loved it and would highly recommend - perfect for a couple!

We had a nice stay in Way Back cottage this past weekend. Although it was rainy and cooler than we wouldve liked, the cabin was a cozy spot to hunker down and play some dominoes, with a nicely appointed kitchen for cooking and a very comfortable bed. When the weather was cooperative, there was so much to do close by (hiking, biking, restaurants, food trucks, the pools, the exercise center) - good times!

It was amazing! My wifes first experience in Seaside and it went marvelous. The cottage had everything for us for the week! Just a couple disclaimers, this is definitely a place for a max of 2-3 adults or 2 adults and a child. No washer and dryer or dishwasher. Other than that highly recommend and great location!

My husband and I booked a last minute getaway at the Way Back Cottage. We were SO very happy with the property---booking was easy and the staff at the Homeowner's collection were very helpful and professional! The cottage was adorable, clean, comfortable, decorated nicely and convenient to the square and beach. We loved it so much we extended our stay an additional night! Amazing tiny house so ahead of her time. We actually stayed here 27 years ago and she is proving to be timeless. Perfect for two people and a dog who want a quiet escape.
