What's Happening in Seaside?
Thanksgiving Weekend features Seaside's annual Turn on the Town celebration with holiday lights and the lighting of the Seaside Christmas Tree to dazzle your evening - Saturday at 5pm. Also that weekend is a Friday night movie under the stars for all the family AND a Christmas Parade on the Saturday - look for Santa to be there!
December inaugurates a brand new tradition in Seaside: Holiday Market weekends. These festivities happen in the newly upgraded Lyceum, which recently added a stage and other enhancements, winning it a design award, and adding to our fun. On Fridays through Sunday in December, between 3 and 8pm, Holiday Market brings us face painting, photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus, many of the Farmers Market vendors on hand, and - ice skating!
Seaside has added a Synthetic Ice Rink for the festivities! Synthetic ice is what many of the professionals train on, and is used around the world when permanent installations requiring lots of water and electricity are not desired. If you're a skater, try it and see how well it compares, and if you're not a skater, here's your chance to try it.
The long weekends continue through December. Farmers Market continues each Saturday morning, the Amphitheater features a Holiday Pops symphony concert on December 14th, and the other side of Christmas means it's New Year's Eve. That fun evening will feature live music, face painting, crafts and FIREWORKS!
