Where is Seaside, Florida? And how do we get to Seaside? Where are the closest airports? What are the things to do in Seaside? What's the area surrounding Seaside like?
Where is Seaside, Florida?
Seaside is on the Emerald Coast, the curving strip in the northwest of Florida that fronts along the Gulf of Mexico in a gorgeous coastal stretch of playground. Geographically, this coast is part of the Florida panhandle, a pristine and less developed part of the Sunshine State that harbors lovely scenery, state parks and beguiling small coastal towns and communities.
Highway 30A condenses the very best of this area into a fun scenic drive along the coast that runs from Panama City beach at the eastern end, to the hugely popular Destin on the western end, with Seaside in between set elegantly on the dunes leading down to the bone-white sands of the beach, and the teal-green waters of the Gulf.
Hwy 30A is a loop taken out of the main road system that covers the two or three-hundred miles of the panhandle, designed to showcase the breathtaking beauty of this part of the coastline. It serves as a place to slow down time, and capture the old-Florida vibe, a spacious and relaxed lifestyle removed from all the ordinary worries. Countless visitors have their favorite sanctuaries and refuges dotted along 30A, which is not a road so much as a homage to the total comfort of beach living, and Seaside quietly presides at the center of all this.
