Say hello to Drift Away on quaint Savannah Street in picturesque Seaside. The house was completely remodeled top to bottom so won't you be lucky to choose this as your new favorite vacation home! Bright and cheery coastal decor welcomes you in every sunny space. The renovated retro kitchen is a true delight! The house is just a short walk to the beach, pools, tennis courts, fitness center and children's park. 

Drift Away is a combination of the main home Drift Away Main (4 bedroom)  and Drift Away Suite (1bedroom) combined with double the space to provide for large families with children or as a two family-shared accommodation with plenty of privacy. Entrance is through a wrap around screened-in porch and a chic but relaxed atmosphere awaits. Upon entrance the screened in porch welcomes you with lounge seating and outdoor dining for four, perfect for morning coffee or an evening meal al fresco!

The first floor includes two living areas, two dining areas, two fully-equipped kitchens, and two full baths (shower only). The combined open floor plan has the primary living, dining, and kitchen at the front of the home. The renovated kitchen has all all stainless steel appliances and a fun retro green fridge for a fun beach vacation vibe. The kitchen features a four burner electric stove and adjacent bar seating for three more. There is an adjacent dining area that comfortably seats six. The first floor features three bedrooms down. The first bedroom is a queen and  the second bedroom features two twins with a shared hall bathroom. At the rear of the home you will find the third bedroom, a king with a shared full hall bath (shower only). There is the secondary living area off the king bedroom with a full kitchen, bar seating for three, and adjacent dining area for four.  The living room features a queen sleeper sofa for two more. On the second floor are the final two bedrooms with a shared full bathroom with a shower only. The fourth bedroom up features a king bed and the fifth bedroom up has two twins. In the loft area with modified ship's ladder, there is a small futon, as well as an outside balcony. All Drift Away units and the Hide Away cottage share one washer/dryer that is located  under the stairwell at Hide Away.

This cottage may also be rented as Drift Away Main (4-bedroom) cottage or a Drift Away Suite (1-bedroom) during Fall, Winter, or Spring only.  There is also a separate carriage house, Hide Away, which is a 1 bedroom stand alone guest cottage avaialbe for rent seperately in addition to Drift Away if you need more room.

There is shared driveway parking for this unit. The carriage house, Hide Away may also be rented at the same time, and guests will have first come/first served driveway parking.

5-night minimum Spring, Spring Break and Summer; 5-night minimum Fall; 3-night minimum Winter.  Must be 25 years of age to rent and sign registration.

  • 2 parking passes for two-bedroom and larger homes are issued. A golf cart is considered a car. Golf carts for non-homeowners visiting Seaside are prohibited. Special circumstances and medical needs requests require a golf cart permit.

We had a nice fall break with the kids and grandkids at Drift Away. Proximity to beach and town are perfect. House was well-maintained and we had no need to contact HC during our stay. We always enjoy going to Seaside!

Drift Away has been a core home for the Longleaf Writers Conference for a number of years and is always clean and well-appointed and is the perfect place to have access to Seaside, the beach, or just to sit on the lovely enclosed patio. The way the home is set up allows everyone to have privacy but also have a space to sit and enjoy their community.
