Classic Seaside Cottage on Forest Street

From the early 1990s, this Richard Gibbs–designed Charleston-style cottage—known as Little Lodge—has charmed guests with its timeless architecture and tranquil Forest Street location in Seaside, Florida. Thoughtfully designed in the classic “dogtrot” style, the home features a deep, full-length screened breezeway that connects the private bedroom level to the main living spaces above. Fully renovated in February 2023, the cottage blends iconic Seaside design with modern comfort, including a new air-conditioning system, ceiling fans throughout, and updated laundry appliances.

Private Bedroom Suites with Spa-Like Baths

The street-facing entry opens onto a screened porch with direct access to two mirror-image queen bedroom suites on the first floor. Each bedroom features a platform queen bed, custom storage drawers, dimmable indirect uplighting, large shuttered windows, and a smart TV.
Each private ensuite bathroom has been beautifully renovated with a frameless glass walk-in shower, rain showerhead, marble vanity, backlit mirror, and heated floors. An outdoor shower is also available just off the entry-level porch—perfect after a day at the beach.

Renovated Living Spaces with Screened Porches

An easy staircase leads to the second floor, where guests will find the kitchen, dining, and living areas, along with another full-length screened porch and a Juliette balcony overlooking Forest Street Park.
The premium kitchen is equipped with stainless Wolf oven and gas cooktop, a Sub-Zero refrigerator/freezer, and an Asko dishwasher, along with a new pantry and broom closet for added convenience. Adjacent is a completely new dining area featuring a trestle table with benches and chairs.

The living area, open to the dining space, offers a comfortable new sofa, oversized swivel chairs, and a 50” Frame TV, creating an inviting gathering space. A newly wallpapered powder room is located just off the living and dining areas. The upstairs screened porch is furnished with a dining table and chairs for morning coffee, along with a classic bench topped with upholstered cushions.

Outdoor Living & Prime Seaside Location

The cottage is perfectly positioned to enjoy the best of Seaside, FL, with wooded walking and jogging paths just behind the home and the beach, shops, and dining only steps away. A private backyard timber deck completes the outdoor experience, featuring a gas grill, outdoor dining table, and picket fencing—ideal for relaxed evenings at home.

Pet-Friendly Seaside Getaway

Little Lodge proudly welcomes pets. Whether traveling with a small companion or a larger, well-trained dog, four-legged family members are accommodated. Pets must remain leashed while outside within the Seaside community. Nearby village favorites—including the grocery store, post office, and bookstore—offer water bowls and leash tie-downs for visiting pets. A pet cleaning supplement is included in the booking fee.

Included Amenities for a Relaxed Stay

Your stay includes high-speed Wi-Fi, cable TV in each bedroom and the living room, two complimentary bicycles, access to Seaside’s swim, fitness, and tennis centers, private beach pavilion access, and an arrival welcome tote with beach bag and wine. One guest parking space is provided directly in front of the cottage.

* Must be 25 years of age to rent and sign the registration. 3-night minimum Spring, Spring Break | 5-night minimum Summer | 3-night minimum Fall | 2-night minimum Winter. No children ages 13 -19 during Spring Break season. 

* Pets are allowed with certain restrictions and provisions. An additional $50 a day rental pet fee will be collected in addition to the flat $125 pet fee for two-bedroom homes.  No pet over 50 lbs.

Little Lodge was just as described and in the best location for us to enjoy all there is to do in Seaside. The property was well taken care of and had lots of amenities. Homeowners Collection provided all information needed and communication was great! Would definitely love to stay here again!
