From many of the Bowman's Place lounging areas you can watch wild deer along those dunes, if you can tear your eyes away from the Gulf. The iconic pavilions of Seaside are the town's clever way of preserving the natural dunes that give onto the beach, while offering a graceful opening to the sands and the sea. And this beach house is positioned practically beside Natchez Pavilion, entryway to Seaside's lovely sugar-white sand, the largest private beach along all of Florida's scenic Highway 30A.
Life in Style
Living in Bowman's Place is a breeze - literally, with ample sea breezes freshening the air through the multiple windows of the two levels. Windows are everywhere, and so it seems are the endless vistas of the Gulf waters.
The second floor opens to the expansive outdoor porch where everyone will gather to laze on the loungers or to eat dinner or breakfast together. The views here are unspoiled and panoramic - a setting to do justice to the gorgeous skies and sunsets of Seaside.
Getting to the second floor happens almost by itself, up a beautifully crafted and wide curving staircase. Upstairs is the main living area - living in the sky almost, shot through with Gulf views everywhere - with two cleverly designed desk spaces and a cafe nook, as well as the kitchen and a bar, with dining table and natural access to the outdoor porch.
Plenty of sectional seating in this living area allows for comfy sprawling, with fireplace and flat screen to look at (although the Gulf view all around is ever-present in your awareness). This central living area is the crowning jewel of the house, with three sets of French doors that blur the line charmingly between the indoor and the outside worlds.
All of this is created in a spacious open-floor design that flows around the central staircase, leading you from one lovely space to another, with beautiful custom wood throughout. The wood was crafted to evoke a luxury ship, with honey-colored maple banded in dark mahogany. This is a beach home not just to wander in but also to touch, to marvel and enjoy every step you take.
Downstairs are the three suites and a bonus Queen nook. The King master and one of the Queens each have their own screened-in porch for even more of the cleverly cozy spaciousness that this house abounds in, for morning coffee or evening wine. Outside on this level are even more amenities, including a private driveway, a fireplace, and a grill for cooking.
In the Bowman's Place beachfront home, comfort is everywhere. The view is everywhere. Privacy is everywhere.
