Perfectly positioned, Drift Away is just a short walk to Seaside’s private residential beach, swimming pools, tennis and pickleball courts, the fitness center, and the children’s park. Downtown Seaside’s shops, dining, and iconic landmarks are also easily accessible, allowing you to explore everything 30A has to offer without ever needing your car.

Two Homes Combined for Space, Comfort & Privacy

Drift Away offers the unique advantage of combining Drift Away Main (four bedrooms) with Drift Away Suite (one bedroom) to create a spacious, five-bedroom accommodation. This layout is ideal for large families, multi-generational vacations, or two families traveling together—providing ample shared space while still allowing for privacy and flexibility.

Inviting Outdoor Living Spaces

Guests enter through a wrap-around screened-in porch that sets the stage for relaxed coastal living. Furnished with lounge seating and an outdoor dining table for four, this breezy porch is perfect for morning coffee, afternoon reading, or evening meals enjoyed al fresco under the Seaside sky.

First-Floor Living, Dining & Kitchens

The first floor is designed for gathering and entertaining, featuring two living areas, two dining areas, two fully equipped kitchens, and two full bathrooms (shower only).
The primary living space at the front of the home includes an open-concept living room, dining area seating six, and a renovated kitchen with stainless steel appliances and a playful retro green refrigerator that adds classic beach-house charm. A four-burner electric stovetop and breakfast bar seating for three complete the space.

Toward the rear of the home, a secondary living suite offers another full kitchen with bar seating for three, a dining table for four, and a cozy living area with a queen sleeper sofa—ideal for extended family or guests seeking extra independence.

Comfortable Bedrooms for Groups of All Sizes

Drift Away comfortably accommodates guests across five bedrooms:

  • First Floor: Queen bedroom, Twin bedroom (two twins), King bedroom at the rear of the home (These bedrooms share two full hall bathrooms (shower only))
  • Second Floor: King bedroom, Twin bedroom (two twins) (Both upstairs bedrooms share a full bathroom with a shower)

This thoughtful layout makes Drift Away especially well-suited for families with children or mixed-age groups.

Shared Laundry & Additional Details

All Drift Away units, along with the neighboring Hide Away cottage, share a washer and dryer conveniently located beneath the stairwell at Hide Away.

With its fresh renovation, flexible layout, and unbeatable Savannah Street location, Drift Away delivers the space, comfort, and classic Seaside charm needed for a memorable 30A vacation—whether you’re traveling with one family or two.

This cottage may also be rented as Drift Away Main (4-bedroom) cottage or a Drift Away Suite (1-bedroom) during Fall, Winter, or Spring only.  There is also a separate carriage house, Hide Away, which is a 1 bedroom stand alone guest cottage avaialbe for rent seperately in addition to Drift Away if you need more room.

There is shared driveway parking for this unit. The carriage house, Hide Away may also be rented at the same time, and guests will have first come/first served driveway parking.

5-night minimum Spring, Spring Break and Summer; 5-night minimum Fall; 3-night minimum Winter.  Must be 25 years of age to rent and sign registration.

We enjoyed staying at Drift Away. It was very spacious for our group. It was easy walking distance to the beach, restaurants and shopping. Our kids really enjoyed the family pool and wading pools which were just the right depth for them.

We loved our vacation to Seaside and can’t wait to go back. We took our adult children and our three grandchildren. What a joy it was to experience their first trip to the beach. The beach was absolutely beautiful and did not feel crowded at all. Our house was darling, squeaky clean and the location was just a short walk to the beach and the restaurants. Plays for children, such as Jack and the Beanstalk, were performed each evening at the amphitheater. After the play, the children ran and played there on the lawn in front of the amphitheater. It was such a happy place and everyone was having a great time. Regarding the traffic, our car was parked at our house and only used to go to the grocery store. We could walk to any place we wanted. One amazing thing is how the traffic would stop on 30A to let us cross at the crosswalks. If we even looked like we might cross, cars would stop. Once you get off 30A and head to your house, it is so very quiet and relaxing. Not many cars at all and they drove very slowly as to be careful of the children and adults. Bicycles were very popular and two are provided for you at no cost. The family pool was very popular with our little ones and we usually had it to ourselves. This was one vacation we will never forget!!

Drift Away has been a core home for the Longleaf Writers Conference for a number of years and is always clean and well-appointed and is the perfect place to have access to Seaside, the beach, or just to sit on the lovely enclosed patio. The way the home is set up allows everyone to have privacy but also have a space to sit and enjoy their community.
